My name is Libby Wilmshurst; I am the Family Liaison Officer (FLO) at St. Mark’s CEP School.
What do I do and how can I help?
My role is to provide support and information to families with children at the school. I would like to stress that I am here to support parents and carers as well as children. I am available for informal chats, drop-ins, appointments and if needed home visits, so please feel free to come up and say hello.
I offer support and advice on a whole range of issues that may be impacting on parent, carer’s or child’s well-being at school or home.
An integral part of my role is linking families with other agencies, both statutory and non-statutory such as School Nurses, Education Welfare Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Counselling Services, etc.
In addition I also work with families to ensure that their children attend school regularly, when the need arises I will link in with the Education Welfare Officer and work closely with them to improve individual and whole school attendance.
I also support children through 1:1 chats as and when needed or periodic catch-ups.
If you think I can help in anyway, even if it is simply to provide a listening ear on a bad day, please feel free to contact me. Anything discussed will be treated in confidence, with the exception of matters relating to Child Protection concerns. Whilst I may not always be able to help directly, I will always do my best to put you in contact with someone who can. If necessary, I can provide on-going support.
When am I at St. Mark’s?
My working hours at St. Mark’s are Monday and Thursday 8:30am till 4:30pm.
How can you contact me?
I can normally be found at the Playground at drop-off and pick-up times, please feel free to come say hello. I can also be contacted via the school office on 01892 525402, directly by mobile on 07549980841 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. My email account is only accessed by me and therefore is confidential.
